I could scream
Radio talk show host calls autism a ‘hoax,’ refers to children affected as ‘brats’ NIXA, Mo., July 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The National Autism Association (NAA) today joins thousands of parents around the country in demanding an apology and retraction from radio talk show host Mike Savage for his July 16 broadcast in which he stated that children affected by autism are ‘brats,’ and that bad parenting is to blame for a ‘fraudulent’ epidemic now affecting one in 150 children.‘Autism is a very serious condition that greatly impacts the lives of those affected,’ said NAA board member Lori McIlwain. ‘Many children with autism experience tremendous physical pain from underlying pathologies, which accounts for the screaming this person callously dismisses. To have an uneducated opinion about autism is perfectly within one’s right, but to earn a living by shock-value exploitation of children’s suffering, while suggesting they should be called ‘idiots,’ is disgraceful.’While the symptoms of autism often include unusual or negative behaviors, there are serious underlying medical issues that cause these symptoms. ‘To suggest that these kids and their parents are to blame for autism is just plain ignorant,’ said NAA vice president Ann Brasher, who has a grandson diagnosed with autism. ‘The devastating emotional toll autism takes on families is unfathomable to those like Mr. Savage who haven’t lived with it. He owes an apology to children and their parents for trivializing their pain.’ In addition to a public apology and retraction of his words regarding children and families impacted by autism, NAA asks that time be allowed on the Savage show for a truthful portrayal of autism, its effect on families, and the advances in research that are offering hope for recovery to those dealing with autism. For more information on autism, visit www.nationalautismassociation.org. In response to this posting that lists Hoover as an advertiser associated with The Michael Savage Show and Talk Radio Network, I would like to clarify that Hoover and its parent company, TTI Floor Care North America, are not and have never been sponsors of or advertisers on The Michael Savage Show.
While under the ownership of the Whirlpool Corporation, Hoover-branded ads aired during The Laura Ingraham Show on Talk Radio Network; however, ads have not aired on that program since December 2006 when Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd agreed to purchase the Hoover brand from Whirlpool.
We value feedback from our customers and hope you will contact us directly should you have any questions about this important matter.

Nicole – I’m really glad to hear that. I am so glad I can use Hoover products again. I will pass on this info to the autism groups I belong to as well as those I got the list from.
Oh JadedTears! Did you know Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird?
Just so others can be in on the joke, my son’s big obsession these days is Chuck Norris. From the moment he gets up to the moment he goes to bed I hear Chuck Norris jokes. I also hear ” Hey maaaaaaaaaa …….. Who would win in a fight? Chuck Norris or anyone from God to Scooby Doo? He knows the time and station of every Chuck Norris movie being air for months. I will never ad,it it to him but if I see Walker Texas Ranger one more time I am going to bang my gead against the wall. As far as obsessions go this is one I can deal with. At least I know about it some and get to watch kick ass movies. Much better than what will always be known in our house as the “Pokemon Era” So if you know any good Chuch Norris jokes pass them on

Maybe if Michael Savage knew the govevenment (CDC), and Big Pharma were poisoning our children he would be on our side instead of against ‘autism’, aka heavy metals toxicity.
He could be our ally.
